Every journey has a begining
This year I decided to again to put myself to test on the highest peaks. My objectives are 2 mountains located in the Tien-Shan mountain range (Heavenly Mountains) on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border – namely Khan Tengri (7010 m) and Jengish Chokusu (Peak Pobedy – 7439 m).
Both of these peaks are counted among 5 seven-thousander of the former Soviet Union and those who summit all of them can boast the title of Snow Leopard.
An attempt to climb 2 mountains in one summer requires a substantial amount of time, so I reserved 2 months for this expedition. Thus in the beginning of July I arrived at the Vienna airport laden with necessary equipment. From there my flight took me to Bishkek – capital of Kyrgyzstan. My Bulgarian climbing partner Stanislav, with whom I climbed Lenin Peak in 2016, was already waiting for me there.
