Is it autumn or winter in the Male Karpaty?

Autumn rules in towns and lowlands while winter has already come to the mountains. In the Alps and Tatras meter of fresh snow have already fallen.

However if one wishes to enjoy snow-filled views there is an opportunity closer at hand –The Little Carpathians.  Few hours walk from Bratislava is enough to immerse ourselves in the white hills and woods. For us it was a good training to over 50 km in a day in deep snow. We were not alone – sunny weekend tempted also many bikers, hikers or even skiers that we met along the way.

However if you decide to try yourself please be aware I gets dark quite fast so be sure to carry a torch – or start early
