The highest peak of the Little Carpathians – Zaruby
A few weeks of rest after my expedition have finished. It is time to resume training and visit new places. This weekend I decided to see the highest peak of the Little Carpathians – Zaruby 768 m. To make things more difficult together with 2 of my friends we took a long way around – see the map below.
We started from Bukova lake, moved south-west along the red trail. On the crossroads Pod Ciernou Skalou for few hundred meters we moved up the hill along the yellow trail which we left towards the south and went into the woods. We joined marked path in Olsovsky Mlyn and continued along the green trail to Jahodnik. Then we changed to the yellow trail to Vlciaren where we moved on to the blue trail leading to our goal – Zaruby hill.
After a short rest on the top we chose the red trail to Vitkov Mlyn village. Last kilometers lead along an asphalt road back to the starting point. Our effort was rewarded by a colourful sunset.
