The road to Muztagh Ata part 1 – Naryn

It all began with an idea of an expedition at the end of March. Due to special condition on this mountain I had to acquire special equipment for such a challenge.

Our journey began in Kyrgyzstan capital Bishkek – Manas International Airport. There we boarded a yellow Mercedes sprinter bus hired beforehand which got us to Naryn relatively close to Chinese border. It is a small village where most buildings are located along two main streets. For accomodation we selected The Celestial Mountains Guesthouse.

We stayed in this region for the weekend waiting for the border to open on Monday. It was a good opportunity to get to know better the other 5 expedition members. On Sunday we went for acclimatization walk to nearby 3k peaks. On the way we purchased honey from roadside beehives 🙂
