Historical first winter ascent of Nanga Parbat

nangaNanga Parbat is the 9th highest mountain in the world 8126 m It is located in Pakistan, in the Karakorum mountain range.

On Friday February 26th first winter ascent has been done via Kinshofer route on West Diamir face. In the afternoon Simone Moro (Italy), Muhammad Ali Sadpara (Pakistan) and Alex Txikon (Spain) reached the summit of Nanga Parbat. Tamara Lunger (Italy) turned back during the summit bid – having established record female winter altitude ascent reaching close to 8000 m

Now there is only 1 giant unclimbed in the winter – dangerous K2.
